Post Yemen Update

4/28/02

I've been rather delinquent on giving a news update. Procrastination ends here:

I'm back in the States for good now. As many of you know, I was planning on returning for a short vacation to attend our friend Amy's wedding, and then going back to Yemen until the summer. That allowed some period when I could be in denial about resigning and try to salvage a job at State. Plus, the plan of staying until the summer included having my household effects shipped by the State Department. It turned out that plan would not work, so since I was paying to ship my own stuff anyway, I put it all in a yellow 20-foot shipping container and wrote a large check (though not neaerly as large as we originally feared) and then came home for vacation on a one way ticket.

Jen and I will have our house back in two weeks (though with virtually no furniture for quite a while). Jen starts her new job as Instructional Design Specialist (creating and managing training) at the Transportation Security Administration in one week. I'll start looking for a job as soon as we're back in DC.
