Life from a to z

Many of you knew, but to some of you this is out of the blue: Jen and I have decided to uproot ourselves once again and totally transform our lives.

This time, however, the destination is not nearly as difficult to get to as Yemen. We're moving to the suburbs of Philadelphia.

Jen has accepted a job as the Upper School Technology Coordinator at the Episcopal Academy, in Merion, PA. In that position she will help teachers learn about and use technology more effectively in their teaching and their personal work. EA is a well-regarded private school just outside of Philadelphia and this position looks like it's going to be a really good fit for her. The main driving factor in the change was to improve quality of life: we can afford a real house AND she'll have summers off!

At the same time as we were finishing off the job negotiations, we went out and bought ourselves the aforementioned house. We have a contract on a house in Erdenheim, a cute 1950's split level home on a beautifully landscaped third of an acre. The location could not be better: walking distance to an ice cream parlor, deli, egalitarian synagogue, library, all the schools, a farmer's market, CVS, duck pond, and more. Oh and the Blumenthals and the Lakes live within a stone's throw (not that we plan to throw anything except parties). Photos of the house are coming (it's gotten too late tonight).

We expect to move at the end of July and we are very excited to have guests anytime after we get settled. The goal of this move is to be closer to the majority of our family and friends, which is why Philadelphia was the logical choice. Those of you in New York know how little we've managed to visit since we moved to DC. We are hoping to fix that. And the DC crowd will still be within an easy drive, so we'll be back often!

Now all we have to do is sell our townhouse, pack all of our stuff (again), and actually move. In six weeks!
Major Changes Afoot (again)
